How to Become Part-time Wholesale Dealer?

I am a college student with a part-time job who would like to become an online whole-sale dealer through eBay to make some extra money. I have been successful at selling some items of my own and wondered if anyone had some advice/suggestions to me. This wouldn't be a big business venture, just something I could do to make some extra cash.

What products are cheap to purchase wholesale but can make a good profit?

Unfortunately, it's not that easy.

I mean, there are plenty of "cheap" items you can purchase wholesale, especially from China etc. but you get what you pay for with those kinds of things, and there's not a huge profit to be made. Asian wholesalers work on the 'quantity not quality' kind of base line.

I did have a stall at a market once, where I was selling all that Asian wholesale fashion jewellery, kids jewellery etc. It was good for making a little extra cash, but wasn't a wage earner.

Sometimes stores have massive sales at tax time and xmas. You know the ones where they have like 50% off things? That's probably where you could make some extra cash, as you would have access to buying quality brand name items, plus you don't have to purchase a minimum amount of items like you do with wholesalers.
